Intermediate Cruising out of Vancouver, Course Fee from CAD $749.00*
Become certified to charter worldwide in this confidence-building 3-day program. You'll learn the use of electronics, daytime navigation, boat maintenance, boat systems, overnight anchoring, safety procedures, trip planning and general seamanship. Boarding the night before is complimentary and provisioning is included in the price. Trips return Sunday by 3pm.

No yelling onboard and you do it all! Experience cruising life on a 5 day, fully provisioned sail boat through the Gulf Islands. Follow the best winds and find the best scenery as you learn about seamanship, safety, anchoring, navigation and boat handling under sail and power. Successful students are awarded the Canadian Yachting Association’s Basic Cruising Standard.

Advanced Cruising - 5 day program, Course Fee from CAD $1499*
Become a confident coastal cruiser in all conditions day and night on this challenging 5 trip. Course topics include night sailing, navigation, sail theory, day and night emergency drills and splicing. This certification is also offered in a 7 day format to the West Coast of Vancouver Island as well as a 14-day Vancouver Island circuit. This course is scheduled to be on a late model yacht between 43-50'. Five to six students and one instructor will sail aboard the yacht. Provisioning and course materials are included.
Prerequisite: CYA Intermediate Cruising, CYA Coastal Navigation, VHF, Standard First Aid & CPR

Offshore Circumnavigation (14days), Course Fee from CAD $3999*
As you circumnavigate Vancouver Island, you will do the CYA Advanced standard, learning about weather, boat handling, advanced sail trim and other components laid out in your CYA logbook for the Advanced Standard.
Then you'll learn boat preparation for offshore cruising, passage planning and heavy weather sailing. The Canadian Yachting Association Offshore Standard involves the research required for an actual offshore passage of your choice on the vessel of your choice. For some, the offshore course is the beginning of a lifetime of offshore cruising. For others, it is an experience of a lifetime. The two week format starts and finishes in Vancouver and affords the opportunity to explore the untouched beauty of the West Coast of Vancouver Island in addition to the introduction to sailing out of the sight of land.
This course is scheduled to be on a veteran offshore cruising yacht between 37-40'. Four students and one instructor will sail aboard the yacht. Provisioning and course materials are included.
