Travel through the five seas of the
East Indies on the expedition cruise from Bali to Borneo. This East
Indies odyssey will take you from the Bali Sea to the South China Sea
by way of the Flores Sea, Makassar Straight, Celebes Sea and Sulu Sea
to the South China Sea. It is heartening to know that in this ever
shrinking world there are still relatively unknown regions to explore
and nowhere is this more evident than the little known islands of
Indonesia and the vast island of Borneo.
High on the ‘must do list’ of the most seasoned of travellers, this
region with its timeless traditions offers extraordinary natural
beauty and fascinating wildlife both above and below water. It is
ideal territory for expedition cruising and, for this journey far away
from the mass tourism circuit, we have chartered the ideally suited,
120- passenger MS Clipper Odyssey. The journey will end with a couple
of days in Kuala Lumpur, a great place to see in the New Year.
The vessel:
Accommodating a maximum of 128 guests, the MS Clipper Odyssey is the
ideal size for these in-depth itineraries. Well known in the Pacific
waters, she operates trips from New Zealand to the Russian Far East.
The well-trained crew of 70 provide an excellent service.
All staterooms have an ocean view, and each feature lower beds,
private bathroom, sitting area with sofa, individual temperature
control, in-room music system and television for film viewing. A lift
allows easy access to all passenger decks, and an INMARSAT
telecommunications system permits 24-hour e-mail access. International
meals are served in the window-lined dining room, individually
prepared by the excellent chefs. Other facilities include a lounge,
library, gym, outdoor pool, hair salon, medical clinic staffed by a
registered physician and a gift shop.
A fleet of onboard Zodiac landing craft allows exploration and
landings anywhere nature or curiosity dictates, accompanied by
destination experts individually selected for each voyage. A
customised glass-bottom boat affords us a carefree look at the
magnificent underwater world.
